“My wife and I are separated, this is not a joke” – Basketmouth (Video)

Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha professionally known as Basketmouth, has addressed those who believe his separation from his wife, Elsie, was only a joke.

Recall that in December 2022, after 12 years of marriage, the comedian and Elsie announced their separation in a statement posted on social media. Although some people first believed it to be a prank.

In a recent interview, the father of four maintained that he’s separated from his wife at the moment but refused to divulge more details about the separation.

In his words;

“I am separated right now. People thought it was a joke but it wasn’t. People said is that a way of promoting a show and I’m like you definitely do not know my design.
I do not bring my private matter on a public space. But it was something I needed to do for reasons best known to me. And yes. We were cool. Everything is fine. We completed 12 years.”
