A 300-level student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is trending online after he proposed marriage to his girlfriend in front of a packed class.

In a video showing the adorable moment that’s currently making the rounds, the young man went down on his knee in front of his coursemates and lecturer and proposed to his lover in the middle of a lecture.

He had planned the romantic proposal with some of his classmates and hired a saxophonist to serenade his lover with nice tunes as he popped the question.

While he was on his knee with a ring in his hand, his friends were seen on one side of the lecture hall carrying banners that read, “Will you marry me?”

The girlfriend, who appeared completely astonished, was beaming from ear to ear as she stretched her finger to her man so he could place the ring on it.

A trending clip shows the birthday celebrant, who was over the moon, posing with her birthday gifts in an apartment.

She received the whooping sum of N3 million, two brand new Keke Napeps, iPhone 14 Pro Max, luxury wigs, wrist watch, diamond, and to crown it all, she also received a money bouquet and money tower.

It was gathered that the young lady’s lover went above and beyond to surprise her with the eye-popping gifts on the occasion of her birthday, to make it memorable.

And truly, the young lady would remember this year’s birthday for a long time, as she couldn’t help but burst into tears at the thoughtfulness and generosity of her man.

A 46-year-old man identified as Hassan Azeez has been arrested by the Ogun state Police Command, for allegedly setting his wife ablaze.

According to a statement issued by SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson for the state police command, the suspect was apprehended after the victim’s father reported to Ibogun divisional headquarters that on October 22, 2022, his daughter, Olayinka Hassan, was set ablaze by her husband over a minor disagreement and that the victim, a mother of one, was rushed to a hospital in Ibadan.

He said;

“Upon the report, the DPO Ibogun division, CSP Samuel Oladele quickly mobilized his men and moved to the scene. But before getting there, the suspect had escaped. Since then, the police operatives have been on his trail until 22nd of January when he was eventually apprehended.
On interrogation, the suspect who claimed to have ran away to Benin Republic confessed to the commission of the crime but blamed it on the devil.
According to him, he asked the victim to prepare food for him but instead of the victim to prepare his food, she was busy washing clothes. He stated further that he got annoyed because he was hungry and the annoyance made him to pour petrol on her and set her on fire. When asked whose clothes the woman was washing, he confessed that it was his clothes.”

The suspect has been sent to the state Criminal Investigation Department’s Homicide Section for additional investigation and probable prosecution.

Popular Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye has shared two incidents she thinks of whenever she has to cry during a movie role.

Speaking during an episode of “Lilian’s Couch“, with Lily Afegbai, he thespian explained that she finds it easy to cry when she thinks about some experiences she has gone through.

Bimbo narrated how terrible she felt after feeding her nephew a hot meal that burnt him and how her dad who is emotionally strong once cried while he was sick.

According to her, those were the major things that make her emotional and easily cause her to tear up.

She said;

“When I’m trying to cry, one thing I don’t like to do as an actor when I’m crying is: there’s this expo where you just open your eyes and then it starts to like bring out water.
It has even been scientifically proven that the tears that you cry from inside and the ones that you just open your eyes is different. Your eyes roll differently, and the redness of your eyes is different. So anytime I try to channel tears like that, I think about so many things that have brought me hurt, that I’ve not been able to handle. And it could be anything silly.
One day I was feeding my nephew – y’all know how much I love my baby, that’s my everything. I was feeding him so I, am about to cry again, so I was feeding my nephew and that boy is my best friend, he’s like my everything. So I was feeding him, he was still a baby, and I didn’t know that the food in the feeding bottle was hot. So as I gave it to him, he screamed, and he started to cry. I felt like I had betrayed him. Cuz I was supposed to protect him. He was crying like a baby you know, just tiny itsy bitsy pain, and I just saw my sister laughing. I was like what is funny? She was like you look stupid. I was literally begging him like “papa, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to.
So those are the kinds of situations that I think about when I want to cry, because that day I felt broken. Like my god, my baby, I didn’t mean to hurt you, I’ll protect you with my life, I was talking to him like “Papa I’m so sorry, I didn’t know the food was hurt, I’m sorry, forgive me”. You know things like that.
Like one time when my dad was sick and I was sick. I was very young, I think I was in JSS 2 at the time. So he was lying down and then I heard him crying. My sister was in boarding house so it was just both of us at home.
So I heard him crying and my dad is the strongest human being I have ever met in my life. If my father tells you he has a headache, he’s dying. God forbid, but that’s, like, he doesn’t talk. So for him to cry, I was so scared. I had to tell him “don’t leave me. You cannot leave me”.
Then he started to cry too like I’m not leaving you, I’m not going anywhere, we’re here together. So situations like that, when I think about it, it just breaks me and then I channel that to become that character.”

Famous Nigerian entertainer, Yhemolee has shared the strange way fast-rising Nigerian musician, Asake got into the university.

Yhemolee shared during a chat with Taymesan on his Tea With Tay’ Podcast that Asake didn’t join their group of friends by being a student of Obafemi Awolowo University.

According to him, Asake did not write any exams to gain admission into OAU but was brought into the school by a guy named Lala, who is currently a Nollywood actor.

Yhemolee claimed that Lala was in the Performing Arts department and that Asake somehow became a student of the department because he could beat drums.

In other news, Popular Nollywood actress and film producer, Mary Remmy Njoku, has reacted to reports that a court ruling awarded N5 million in damages against singer Oxlade over his leaked bedroom tape.

It was earlier reported that an Ikeja High Court sitting in Lagos State ordered Oxlade to pay N5 million in damages to a young woman, identified as John Blessing, for secretly recording their intimate session and leaking the video online.

Justice Olalekan Oresanya, who gave the judgment, described Oxlade’s actions as “despicable, horrendous, distasteful, and classless.”

The video of Oxlade making out with the lady leaked online in February 2022, without the knowledge or consent of the woman involved, and it triggered public outrage.

The judge, in his ruling, ordered Oxlade to pay the sum of N5 million in damages to Blessing in two instalments of N3 million and N2 million, respectively.

However, commenting on an Instagram blog that shared the news, actress Mary Njoku insinuated that the amount awarded to Blessing was quite small.

“5m naira only?” She wrote.

Controversial media personality, Solomon Buchi, has replied trols who dragged him for crying on his wedding day.

Recall that Solomon married his heartthrob, Arike amidst tears in a beautiful ceremony two days ago.

A Nigerian man, identified as Emmanuel Okorie, has revealed that he and his wife never got intimate until their wedding night.

The proud husband made this disclosure on Facebook while showing off his beautiful wife.

According to Emmanuel, he and his wife waited until their wedding night to get intimate.

“You say that there are no more men that will abstain from sex until marriage because you have made up your mind to give them sex,? he said in a Facebook post on Friday, February 3, 2023.

A trending video captured the moment the man’s wife surprised him with a brand new pair of airPods, and his unexpected response to the simple gift earned him praise from social media users.

In the video, the wife placed the airpod inside the refrigerator, and when he walked into the living room, she asked him to help her get water.

A yet-to-be identified bank customer has reportedly slumped and died after standing in a queue for long hours at a bank in Agbor, Delta State.

The tragic incident happened inside the banking hall on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Viral reports alleged that the man died after waiting for several hours to withdraw cash.

However, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the news to Tribune on Friday, said the man died after waiting for hours to collect his Automated Teller Machine card at the bank in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State.

“He was not trying to withdraw cash; he came to collect his ATM card.” Edafe said.

In other news, Nigerians have been captured dealing with the stress of the naira note swap in a rather violent manner in the banking hall.

A video of two Nigerian men exchanging blows for reasons unknown has made rounds online. The angry men swung blows at themselves in front of other customers and bank employees.

Meanwhile, a video has surfaced online, showing Nigerians struggling to enter the banking halls to swap the old naira notes for new ones.

Recall that the Central Bank of Nigeria initially stood its ground on the initial date of expiration for the old notes causing there to be extreme tension and struggle to arrive at banks before the due date but it has now announced that the President approved a 10-day extension to encourage more Nigerians to quickly deposit the old notes.

According to Nana, her father never believed in her and labeled her a mistake.

“I was in 300 level when I had to drop out. I cried a lot coz of this. This made me to go through a lot. I had to take care of myself. I don’t owe my mum anything cos I was in the street way too early, bringing things home, she never asked me how or where I got it from. My father has never been proud of me. Uttering a statement like I’m a mistake,” she said.
